Pure Joy

I talk about my nieces Lucy and Lydia like they are my own children. Having babies in the family brings a whole new element of happiness. Even when they are bossy and whiney and dirty and stinky, these babies are just pure joy.

I'm cleaning up the pictures on my phone and I realize that the vast majority of my photos are the girls and the puppies... just capturing some precious moments. Get ready for the dump!

If you don't have a baby or a dog in  your life... take my word for it... its time!

Birthday Boy!

Can you believe that the first time I met this boy, he was just a tiny sweet cheeked miracle?

My baby Kobe has turned TWO! Wow how time flies.
Kobe got a nice birthday buzz cut... to battle to Arizona heat.

Come Sunday, we we're ready to PARTY!

And by party I mean, give Kobe a HUGEMONGOUS bone and let him enjoy the day!

HAHA!! He was not tryin to share that bone with ANYONE!

I love my Kobe pup... he has been with me through a lot of stuff and brings joy to my life everyday!
HAPPY 2nd BABY CHEEKS!

Bestest Besties

The last couple of weeks in San Diego were pretty lonely for Kobe. I would take him to work with me every day {at a middle school, he stayed in my office no big deal} but one day he broke free and ran all over campus terrorizing the Somali children {apparently in their culture dogs are demonic animals and they are not allowed to touch them... who knew} the rest of the kids thought he was great... the teachers did not...
So I had to leave him home alone all day every day for a couple of weeks. Poor boy. By the time I got home from work I had SOOO much to do {packing and such} the poor pup didn't get much attention.

But all of that changed when we got to Arizona.
My sister Melissa has a puppy named Hooshie who is Kobe's bestest friend/cousin. They are in LOVE with each other.

Every time they are around each other they play and wrestle and love non stop.

Now that they are together 24/7, you'd think that they would settle down... NOT A CHANCE! They wrestle and play and chase each other around ALL DAY LONG...
I love it. They couldn't be happier.
Oh those pups...

{am I a crazy dog lady yet?}

Hair Cut

Kobe is a Yorkie... and Yorkies dont shed, horray!
But his hair does grow, and fast! He got a hair cut like 3 months ago and he is lookin scruffy!

So... time for a hair cut!

Here is the BEFORE pic

and the AFTER! You can tell he feels all clean and fresh! I have them cut him really short so that I dont have to pay $45 every month to cut him, that adds up!

On a funny note... I got Kobe a cow costume for Halloween and I tried it on him...

Funniest moment of my life! I cant stop laughing when I look at this picture... he is SO TICKED! He would not move at all or put his head up... he sat like that until I took it off... BWAHHHAHAHAHAH!

He hates it, but he is still going to wear it on Halloween... I think its adorable...

Just look at the picture above it, and how happy and normal he is... then scroll down and look at the cow pic... ahahahahahaha! I cant help it!

Do you dress your pets up for Halloween?

Sometimes it happens

I got new nail polish. Its called 'gun metal' and I am super excited about it.
I took my precious doing the first coat to make sure it was perfect.

Five minutes later, Kobe attacked my hands {he hates, like to the point of growling, the smell of nail polish}messed up 4 of the nails... ticked.

So I go to take it off and redo those 4 nails. I get the nail polish remover and some cotton balls. Of course the cotton balls get stuck into 3 or my non dry remaining perfectly painted nails. I try and try and try to get that nail polish off, but its just not happening. I try soaking them in the remover and nothing, not a dent. Why is the remover just not working? This polish must be industrial strength or something...

By this time I am super annoyed at the whole process. I google alternatives to getting nail polish off, find nothing, so I just start picking at the polish of my 7 ruined nails.
I get up and go into the bathroom to find a nail file and instead I find the nail polish remover... that's strange, I didnt know that I had two bottles.

Come to find out, I was actually trying for a good thirty minutes to remove my polish with hydrogen peroxide. Blonde moment and I have never been blonde. The most pointless hour of my life thus far.

Holiday's are comin!

Normally I am against people dressing dogs up in clothes. The only exceptions are special occasions like a sports game, a wedding or birthday, or a holiday.

Richard about flipped last year when I dressed Kobe up as a bumble bee for Halloween. I thought it was adorable!

So this year I am thinking of something a little more masculine... should he be a cow or Batman?

A Tidbit of puppy

Tuesday's Tidbit

We got Kobe's papers in the mail

They charged $20 for a HALF sheet of paper declaring he is in fact a PURE BREED

I'm thinking of breeding him just so that $20 doesn't seem so pointless

How do you feel about breeding?

Little Baby Boy

Have I ever mentioned that my dog thinks he is human?

He loves to sit on our laps like a little baby and just be content for hours...
I love that little guy... how could you not love that precious old man teddy bear?

Heneyway- He got his very first professional hair cut this week.
They said that he did not cooperate well...maybe he will get better each time...

 this was him BEFORE...

And... here he is AFTER! with a cute little pal bandana

SO PROUD! A little less teddy bear... still old man status...
PS he is a yorkie but his ears don't stand up cause he had too much hair on them and now the cartaledge is too weak... love those floppy ears!

One of my favorite things...

We LOVE LOVE the beach
and an amazing thing is that San Diego has a  DOG BEACH!
 {aka Heaven for Kobe}

One amazingly beautiful day in FEBRUARY in San Diego (it was probably 78 degrees!) we decided to drive down to the beach and check it out

Kobe was a little hesitant about the sand at first... but once he got going... oh love of life!

Kobe is still a puppy {only 8 months} AND he has big man syndrome... he thinks he is a huge dog and is NOT afraid of any other dogs... if we let him off the leash he would take off and jump into the ocean with the other Great Danes and Rotweillers...

He LOVED the water, he LOVED the other dogs... I'd say it was pretty much his most favorite day of his life... even though I had to save his life a couple of times when he tried to play with the big dogs...

PS, I am never wearing that dress again... I look 50 lbs heavier or pregnant...AND pardon my whiteness...

AND I had to put this picture on here... this is the BEFORE shot when Richard decided it would be fun to jump off some rocks and fracture his foot... but he is the KING OF THE WORLD!
